How did I evolved as a User Experience Designer?

In 18 years of work experience in print, advertising, broadcast media, and digital platforms. I worked on a range of projects, from designing native apps to collaborating on film sets with a production crew.

Consequently, I grew to be more curious about why people chose certain things over others.

Over time, I instinctively identifying user and business problems and the ux design process then turned satisfying.

Why did I become a Portfolio Counsellor?

I often came across strong ideas that turned into ineffective case studies. The young graduates were taught how to ideate but were not taught how to communicate and articulate their idea.

Hence my work did not end with helping clients get better business or users get better experience. My focus as a designer also became to build a better design industry for the future.

I took a self initiative to bridge the gap, and started counselling design graduates.

As a counsellor, I help them stay with the idea, build their communication around it deftly and help them get jobs and admissions.

If they win, I win. We in turn improve as a design industry and impact the society.

I rarely come across real talents who stand out like Irfana. I had the pleasure of inviting her several times at école intuit.lab for juries and workshops, I was impressed by her ability to guide students effortlessly. That skill often takes years to develop among education professionals, but it seemed to come perfectly naturally to her. And no matter how hard students have to work, Irfana made sure everyone left with a smile. I will definitely invite her again in a very near future.
